Holy Week: Lord of All

When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided his clothes among the four of them. They also took his robe, but it was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom. So they said, “Rather than tearing it apart, let’s throw dice for it.” This fulfilled the Scripture that says, “They divided my garments among themselves and threw dice for my clothing.” So that is what they did. - John 19:23-24

Soldiers knelt at the cross - not to acknowledge Christ as Lord, but to gamble for His clothing. There before them hung the Savior of the world, yet all they could see was what they wanted from Jesus.

We are often guilty of the same thing. Jesus is still the Savior of the world and He desires for you to make Him Lord over every area of your life.

Ask the Lord to search your heart. Where have you only been interested in what Jesus could give you and not interested enough in living for Him and serving Him? Confess that to God and ask Him to give you the desire to live for Jesus and make Him the true Lord of your life.

Take out your journal and write down what the Lord shows you and how you will respond.
